The fishing has been great this season and we’ve been fortunate to be so busy! Plenty of variety and lots of big fish have made for a lot of fun trips. Below I will include a few pictures of some memorable catches from recent charters. As we get into the cooler months of the fall/winter the water temperature will begin to lower and we’ll start getting into some of the best fishing of the year. If you’ve fished with Amick’s before I’m sure you’ve heard us say that October/November are two of our favorite months of the season. As summer time comes to an end and fall weather creeps upon us we look back on the last few weeks of summer and forward to the cool weather and great fishing of fall. In recent weeks we’ve been able to slip in a few trips between storms and NE fronts. Solid fishing continues and the trips were filled with a variety of species and some big fish to make the trips fun and memorable. Fall fishing is here and is one of the best times of year to fish.

September Fishing!

September fishing has been great!!! With the temperatures beginning to cool down the bite has been more aggressive offshore. As we get further along into the fall and water temps begin to lower the fishing on the reefs and ledges picks up. October tends to be one of our favorite fishing months of the year for that reason. The last open boat of the season has been fully booked but private charters are available throughout the rest of the year. Please call to reserve your trip today!

August Fishing!!!

Fishing has been great for us as we wrap up our 6 day Mini Season for Red Snapper. With limits for everyone over the weekend we put some great fish on the docks and made for some memorable catches. After having such rough weather throughout the month of July the month of August has been good to us. Red Snapper, Gag Grouper, Scamp Grouper, King Mackerel, Vermilion Snapper, Silver Snapper, Triggerfish, Porgy, Almaco Jacks, Bar Jacks, Hog Fish, Sea Brim and Black Seabass were all caught on recent trips. Check out the pictures below from this past weekend (final 3 days of Snapper Mini Season).

Its been a busy few weeks with beautiful weather and great fishing. Big days recently with an assortment of fish coming from the reefs and ledges. Great to see some big Grouper and many many BIG Red Snapper, they are making for some memorable days for our clients. Capt. Steve Amick has been fishing the Georgia Coast for 40 years and he says he’s never witnessed Snapper Fishing as good as it is right now. Along with the Snapper and Grouper the Triggerfish, Silver Snapper, Black Seabass, Vermilion Snapper, White Bone Porgy, Sea Brim, Almaco Jack, Amber Jack, Bar Jacks, Hog Fish, Reef Sharks as well as some oddities like Queen Triggerfish and Dog Snapper have all made for some great catches.
